Frequently Asked Questions SHARE THE VISION DISTRICT OF CHOICE
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Where do the proceeds go from selling ME and TC? With the investment of $2M from fund balance into the projects, proceeds from the sales will be returned to fund balance.
Why is the impact on the levy lower in this referendum even though the total cost of project is more?
1) The district has had the opportunity to refinance and pay down 4 years of debt. The more debt we are able to pay off, the less tax impact there is. 2) Property values in the district have increased. In general terms, there are more people paying taxes in the community, which lowers the impact for everyone. 3) We are operating in an environment with lower interest rates than in 2011. This brings down the overall cost of the financing plan, thus lowering the tax impact.
How will attendance lines be drawn should TC and ME be closed?
A plan will be developed collaboratively based on factors such as: residential locations, neighborhoods, families, staffing and special student requirements.
