COLLIERVILLE SOCCER
Program Overview
Committed to Developing the Individual Player The Collierville Soccer Association development of the TOTAL player.
Competitive program is dedicated the
The organization believes success comes only as a result of proper training, development and commitment from the player, parent, coach and organization. Our coaches realize that through helping your players learn to play soccer, they will also have the opportunity to instill life lessons on teamwork, sportsmanship and character.
Try-Out Policy and Team Formation All players who have the desire and commitment to play competitive soccer are encouraged to attend tryouts. The organization is committed to form as many age specific teams as qualified player numbers allow, in an effort to provide all players an opportunity to play competitive soccer. In the event there are not enough qualified players to form a complete age specific team, the coaches, Director of Coaching and Executive Director will pursue options including double-rostering of players, logical age combinations and additional tryouts/recruiting, in an effort to provide all players an opportunity to participate in the competitive program. Final player selections are made without regard to race, religion, creed, color, national or ethnic origin. The Coaching Staff has complete, autonomous authority over player evaluation and selection. The Competitive Committee assists only in an administrative capacity. The Competitive Committee and coaching staff recognize young players’ development progresses at different rates. At all age groups, team rosters are formed on the coaching staff’s assessment of the individual players’ current level of development (most developed to greatest development needed) and that this level may change during the course of the year and from year to year. This process of organization and reorganization allows the player to progress at an accelerated rate, as the individual needs of the players and the team drives the training and development regimen of the teams’ coach. Winning is important. Ultimately all players, coaches and parents want to win. However, the and believe proper training and individual skills development should be the priority before the win/loss record. The take the long term view that your child should receive the training necessary to take them to the highest level they can achieve and ultimately give them the best chance at long-term success. A coach’s primary mission is player development and they are evaluated not on their win/loss record but on how well their players learn and progress in soccer.
