Ferbruary 4th, 2016 3915 Rue University Samourais des Jungles Urbaines 1403 Rue Elisabeth To whomever it may concern: My name is Bailey Robinson and I am writing to you in regards to my experience at your club, Newspeak, on Saturday January 23rd, 2016. Having been a regular customer at Newspeak every Saturday for the past few months, I have grown to enjoy your club and trust the service you provide. Usually at clubs, I avoid coat check due to their reputation of often losing customer belongings; however, on Saturday January 23rd, trusting your club’s staff, I checked my brand new parka. After having a great time, I returned to pick up my jacket and handed one of your staff my ticket numbered 799. I was then handed back the wrong jacket. I proceeded to talk to the manager on duty, Alexis LaBottle, who tried himself to look for my jacket. When the jacket was not found, Mr. LaBottle told me that “there must have been two 799 tickets” implying that your staff gave away my jacket. Mr. LaBottle and I exchanged contact information so I could be contacted if the jacket was returned, for which I am very grateful. He showed exemplary customer service in making me feel that this issue was a concern to your staff. However, this line of communication stopped when I followed up with Mr. LaBottle in regards to the jacket on Thursday January 28th and he did not respond. It has now been almost two weeks since your team lost my jacket and I have not been informed of how this is to be resolved. I understand and am empathetic towards the fact that on a busy club night mistakes can easily be made nevertheless, the loss of my jacket was an error on behalf of your team. Since the jacket has not been found, I expect to be reimbursed for its cost. Montreal is a very cold place in the winter, and as a student without the luxury of a car, I have become very reliant on my parka. It is a black North Face jacket which was originally $500. I bought it on sale for $350 in Calgary. I have found the same jacket at Altitude Sports for the same sale price; however, with tax it will be $402.40. I expect to be reimbursed for this price so I can go and buy myself a new jacket.

Below is a picture of the jacket, a picture of myself wearing the jacket, a picture of the original receipt, and pictures of my conversation with Alexis LaBottle.

I would appreciate it if this issue could be resolved as quickly as possible. If I do not hear back from you by February 15th, 2016, I will be following up once more. I would prefer to be reached by email at [email protected] or by cellphone at 403-891-6197. My friends and I enjoy coming to Newspeak and we would like to feel comfortable returning once more. Yours truly,

Bailey Robinson
