October 26th, 2016 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Sign in opens at 8:30 Deadline for Registration October 21st While all-day attendance is optimal, participation for individual sessions is welcome As Sullivan strives to become a healthier, more vibrant place, many are advocating for Complete Streets to increase safe roadways for vehicles, pedestrians, cyclist and individuals with disAbilities. Come find out what Complete Streets are all about, what they can do for your community, and what it takes to make them happen. The workshop will be geared to municipal officials, public works employees, and community advocates.  Topics and activities include: o The Complete Streets Concept o Economic, Health & Safety Benefits o New York State’s Complete Streets Policy o Case Studies  Complete Streets in Rural Communities  Low Cost Options o Funding Complete Streets Projects o Walking Workshop on Identifying Complete Street Improvements This is a free event sponsored by NYS DOT, featuring national complete street experts from Smart Growth America. Registration, location, food and beverages are sponsored by Cornell University Cooperative Extension – Sullivan County Creating Healthy Schools and Communities. It is presented by the Sullivan County Division of Planning and Environmental Management, Sullivan Renaissance, and Cornell Cooperative Extension. Lunch will be provided (water filling station available).
