Concession Stand Dear Parents, Welcome to the NALL 2016 Season! If you have not worked in the concession stand before or just want a refresher, training session will be schedule at the end of March/ beginning of April. Before the season begins, you will receive a schedule from your team manager or team parent that outlines the games that you are scheduled to work in the concession stand. If you are unable to work on the day you are scheduled, it is your responsibility to find someone to switch days. Once you have found someone willing to switch days, please make sure to notify your team manager or team parent and also write the change down on the master list located inside the concession stand on the bulletin board. Please remember that all parents are required to work in the concession stand – it is NOT optional. If at any time you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at
[email protected] or call me at 302-367-5853. Thank you! Barb Trotto
Here is some information that you may find useful when working in the concession stand: EVERY GAME
Please park in the city lot. Parking is not permitted in the VFW lot. Smoking, Alcohol, and inappropriate behavior are not allowed on any part of NALL’s property. FOR SAFETY REASONS, CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE CONCESSION STAND. No one should be taking any money from the register. Please ask for small bills if you are running low on ones. There will be a binder in the concession stand with instructions and other helpful information in it to help you remember everything. Offer umpires bottled water or Gatorade, hotdogs or other snacks free of charge. Money must be counted after each game. Leave all the coins and $100.00 in bills in the register - 50 ones, 8 fives and 1 ten dollar bill. Put any extra money in an envelope from the drawer. Label the envelope with teams’ names, the date and the amount in the envelope. Each concession stand volunteer should initial the envelope. Place finished envelope into the safe and make sure it drops down into the safe.
FIRST GAME OF THE DAY
You must arrive 30 minutes before the game starts in order to get things ready for the beginning of the game. The team manager will be there to give you the key to unlock the concession stand. Unlock the lock, take it inside the stand and then hang it up on the nail just inside the door. Do not leave the lock on the outside.
Turn on all appliances. Deep Fryer goes to 350 degrees. Place the folding table outside the door to hold the condiments and napkins. Unlock the bathrooms and check to make sure they are stocked with toilet paper, paper towels and soap. Open both of the windows of the concession stand (front and side).
LAST GAME OF THE NIGHT
If you are the last game of the day/night, please be conscientious of the amount of food you are making once you reach the fourth inning. We do not want to waste food. Restock the sodas in the fridge during the game and at the end of each day/night. Bring cooler ones to the front. Last game of the day/night - clean up the concession stand and appliances. Pull in the table from outside. Turn off and then unplug all the appliances except the cheese dispenser. Close both windows and secure. Clean and restock the bathrooms with toilet paper, paper towels and soap. Lock bathroom doors. The teams who play the last game of the day/night are also responsible for emptying all trash cans into the dumpster.
