Thailand, Southeast Asia: June 29—July 13 and December 16—30 - These teams will travel to the country of Thailand to work with Crossgate Missionaries Tracy & Shonna Shipp, and Gwen Turner. We will work alongside them to minister to the women of Chinatown who are being trafficked, work at “Breakthrough Thailand” doing soccer and VBS activities with children and youth, minister to the women and staff of “The Well” through worship, teaching, and testimony, and anything else the Lord has in store for us to do. Approximate Cost = $2,300 Ecuador, South America: July 15—22 - Team Leader: Ronnie Ritter - This team will travel to Quito, Ecuador and will be working with the children at the orphanage “Houses of Happiness”. Our purpose will be to engage with the 100 plus children at the orphanage simply loving on them and showing them GOD’s LOVE. We will be doing several activities with the children as well as completing some minor construction/fix up projects. Approximate Cost = $1,500 Boston: July 29—August 4 - Team Leader: David Roshto - This team will be assisting with a summer VBS outreach with our church planting partners Steve & Merri Brown in Stoneham, MA. We may also do some community service projects in their area. Approximate Cost = $1,000. Zambia, Africa: September 25 - October 6 - Team Leader: Pastor Shawn Barnard - This team will be traveling to Kitwe, Zambia, which is located in the north/northwest part of Zambia (also known as the Copperbelt region). The purpose of this trip is to assist in meeting the medical needs of orphans, as well as the people of Ndeke township, in Kitwe, Zambia. The team will be returning to serve in the medical clinic that is continuing to provide much needed medical care to those in great need. As well, while we are there, our team will be interacting with people in the villages, serving in the orphanage, and sharing the gospel. “You may be asking yourself, who is Lottie Moon and what is this offering? Well, Lottie Moon was born in 1840 in Virginia. She was educated and from a wealthy home, but God gripped her heart and gave her a passion for people to know Jesus Christ. In 1872 at the age of 32, she joined her sister in China as a missionary. She labored for 39 years sharing the Gospel with the Chinese people. She wrote letters home detailing China’s hunger for truth and the struggle of so few missionaries among 472 million Chinese. She shared the urgent need for churches to PRAY, GIVE, AND GO! At the age of 72, after 39 years of service, she died on Christmas Eve. She was 4 foot 3 inches tall, and weighed 50 pounds at her death. Six years later, Southern Baptists named their Christmas offering after Lottie Moon. To this day, tens of thousands of churches partner together to support missionaries around the world through this offering. Our favorite part is that 100% of this offering goes to international missions! 100%. Last year Crossgate gave $5,000 to this offering from our Missions Budget. This year, we want to give you an opportunity to help us give even more. Taught by experienced international mission trip travelers, this class will help answer many of your questions about being a traveling epicenter. If you have never taken Missions 101 at Crossgate, it is a pre-requisite for all of our mission trips. For those who have not taken Missions 101 in several years, it may be good to take it as a refresher. Register by emailing Pastor David at [email protected] with the names of those attending. Changepoint Ministry - PRAISE - 53 known babies saved from abortion in 2016. Prayer - (1) training people in Sheridan to help mothers, and (2) need more volunteers. Wellspring Church, Boston - Pray for Kids Night on December 28. This is a big neighborhood outreach opportunity for Steve & Merri Brown. Thailand - Pray for Tracy, Shonna, and Gwen, as they continue to prepare for their move to Thailand. Sharing with Our Neighbors - Praise: We were able to bless 285 families in our community with food.
