Objectives
Objectives and Goals
Educate residents about green stormwater infrastructure practices, goals and strategies. Inform residents of overconsumption and lack of recharge of the aquifer through demonstration projects. Illustrate connection between urban and agricultural communities through hands on projects. Target nontraditional audiences through multimedia outreach and diverse education strategies.
Goal Increase awareness of impairments and restoration strategies for the Cohansey River and the Kirkwood‐ Cohansey aquifer in an underserved community.

Outreach Strategies Presenting green stormwater infrastructure workshops Presenting educational workshops to residents Multimedia program Participating in Community Events Training and hands on work with local youth through Restoration Corps

‐Connecting with a water supervision needed on all champion community projects. partner to spearhead projects ‐Need to spend more time within local government. educating residents before ‐Reaching out to non‐ and after project installation. traditional partners for projects. ‐9 rain gardens, 40 barrels, 4 planter boxes.

Mayor’s Residence (barrel only)‐324,000 Bridge the Gap (barrels/planter boxes)‐ 2,112,800 Bridgeton Commons Gardens (7)‐7,760,300 Cohanzick Zoo (buildings)‐1,100,400 Cohanzick Zoo (parking lot)‐7,443,400 Outreach 192 residents directly educated through presentations, and outreach 33 volunteers educated through demonstration projects ½ acre of impervious surface managed
Next Steps for 2017 Install 3 bio‐retention systems at Upper Deerfield Elementary Schools. Introduce water conservation education program in Bridgeton and Upper Deerfield high schools. Distribute rain barrels throughout Bridgeton (goal=50 barrels distributed to residents) Complete “Stormwater Walk” field trip at Bridgeton and Barrett’s Run preserve. Install cistern at Buckshutem Elementary school in Bridgeton
