Subject: U-2801A Mark Per our phone conversation I looked into the status of DOT TIP Project # U-2801A. U-2801A would extend south form where U-2801B project ended (around Rock Hill Road) and continue to US 25. U-2801A is not funded in the Draft 2008-2015 TIP at this time. This is the Draft TIP and the Final TIP would not be finalized until 2009. If funding became available in 2009 (and that is questionable with other higher priorities within Division 13), here is what the schedule may be: 1) Begin Environmental Document 2009 (Environmental Documents take anywhere from 3-5 years depending on complexity.) say 4 years 2) Begin producing design for Right of way Plans, approx. 2013 3) Begin Right of Way purchase, approx. 2014 or 2015. 4) Begin Construction, approx. 2015 or 2016. The schedule is dependent on many things and is hard to guess without any information about the project in hand. I would say from past experience the schedule as shown is the fast track and done out of the DOT central office. This does not mean that the Division 13 (DOT local office) may need to go out and make minor improvements (safety projects) along this same corridor in the near future. Those projects are harder to define. If you have any questions about the actual Right of Way Acquisition process.
