Cricket team excels! Our students excelled in an 8 aside indoor cricket tournament, were they performed and behaved impeccably well, competing against well established Cricket playing grammar schools. They represented the school in the LCCC affiliated Under 13 cricket competition at Liverpool College - they were beaten finalists to Merchant Taylors of Liverpool. Their efforts drew praise from the organisers who were astounded at how good we are. Please congratulate the team for their success (competition finalist team photo from left to right): Mohammed Javed, Jasraj Singh, Omair Awan, Rameel Ahmed, Karen Singh, Mohammed Ahmed, Arjun Singh, Saqib Naz, Muhammed Chunara, Aneeq Chaudhry and Suhayb Illyas. Students recently lead on the Primary School Basketball Festival organised by Miss Hughes. Schools from our local family of Primaries took part and a brilliant day was had!
What happened? Stretford’s Sports Results Rugby League Yr 10/11 Boys beat Parrswood 32-14 to make the South Manchester Final Cricket U13s L to Merchant Taylors in the LCCC Festival Swimming 6th overall in the Trafford Gala. Ibrahim Saeed taking a silver medal 25m freestyle Handball

U15s boys North West Champions!!!
The school took part in the Trafford Swimming Gala for the very first time as the PE department legacy program continues to show progress.
Now progress to

Handball success continues Hot on the heels of the magnificent Manchester Schools win, our U15s boys team are now North West Champions! They now go to the Northern Finals where they take on the champions of the North East, Cumbria and Yorkshire for a place in the London based National Cup Finals. It is a remarkable effort for a sport that only started at SHS in the summer. Training is Wednesdays after school with Mr holder
SSM’s Short Shorts!!! SHS is fast becoming the place to be for elite Rugby League! Salford City Reds First team, and England Academy and Youth are all set to train here in the coming weeks
A massive well done to the students who are members via our partnership with Trafford Athletics. Under our scheme, students can become members and the PE Dept pay membership if commitment is shown
MUFC Foundation are running a Level 1 FA course for Yr11s who are 16 years old for FREE at Easter. Urgently see Mr Fretwell if you would like to do it.
