INDIANA UNIVERSITY SPORTS MEDICINE EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN INDIANA UNIVERSITY CROSS COUNTRY COURSE Emergency Personnel: Certified athletic trainer(s) and athletic training student(s) are on site for practice and competition. Physician(s) are on call for competition. Emergency Communication: Cellular phone. There is no backup landine.
Emergency Equipment: An AED is located in the athletic training tent located at the finish line during competition. Splints and first aid supplies are maintained in the athletic training tent located at the finish line. Medical kit is located in the sports medicine vehicle during practices.
Venue Directions: Indiana University Cross Country Course is located on East University Lane which is directly accessible from the Indiana 45/46 Bypass. Emergency vehicles should take a left off of the Indiana 45/46 Bypass to access East University Lane. Emergency Team personnel will be at the entrance of the course on East University Lane to direct EMS to emergency scene.

Stabilize and monitor athlete as needed Notify the team physician and/or staff athletic trainer Designate someone to keep a record of events and vital information
