From robots to fireworks, there is something for all the family to enjoy with CU in the City!

Colourful Chemistry!
What can a robot learn from you? Uncover how robots are inspired by the natural world and are evolving to become intelligent. Join real robots as they dance and fly and see whether you think you could be friends with a robot?
What makes fireworks look so brilliant? Explore colours as you’ve never seen them before and discover how colour can explain the world around us. Prepare to be amazed as colours change before your eyes, but don’t be surprised by the odd flash or bang along the way!

Let there be light! Be the next Willy Wonka! Join the experts from York Cocoa House in this fun family workshop and immerse yourself in the world of chocolate. Ever wondered why our sun is yellow not blue? Come and see how light can tell us about space and how pigeons got in the way of one of the biggest scientific discoveries! Discover a world of light with hands on activities: from hidden messages and special glasses to lasers and plasma balls! Thursday 12 February, 6.30pm - 7.30pm, University of York
‘The Big Freeze’ with Inkwell Inkwell are off to the Antarctic in this cool location adventure! Come along as we’ll be trekking the icy home of penguins and seals as intrepid explorers, recording our journey through the snowy landscape. Thursday 19 February, 2.30pm - 3.30pm, Tang Hall Library
