The BSA’s Religious Youth Square Knot patch is for Cub Scouts when they earn their first medal: either the “Light of Christ” medal or the “Parvuli Dei” medal in Cub Scouting. This Religious Youth Square Knot patch is only awarded for a religious medal—not for the other Catholic Scouting patches. It goes over their uniform’s left pocket flap.
