We appealed a decision granting a motion to suppress evidence (the ballots), and ultimately won the appeal. It could not be tried due to the death of the witness. The case was ultimately dismissed. >>> Alex Remington 7/11/2012 2:30 PM >>> Dear Ms. Russo, Thanks very much. Earlier this morning, I had asked about John Jackson, and you asked if I had his birthdate. I don't, but his case wound up in the state Supreme Court: http://www.supremecourt.ohio.gov/rod/docs/pdf/0/2004/2004-ohio-3206.pdf The Supreme Court reversed the ruling of a lower court, which had found that secret ballots could not be used as evidence against him. So the Supreme Court stated that they could be used as evidence. However, I never found out what happened with his case after that — whether he was prosecuted again by Cuyahoga County, or whether the charges were dropped or dismissed. Does this provide you with enough information to track down the case? Thanks, Alex Remington On Jul 11, 2012 5:53 AM, "Maria Russo" <

A few weeks ago, you should have received a records request from my colleague Steve Doig at News21, asking for any records of voter fraud cases in your county since the year 2000. John Murphy with the Ohio Prosecutors Association offered to forward our request to you. Since I hadn't heard from you, I wanted to follow up. My colleagues and I are compiling a database of all of the cases of voter fraud that have occurred in Ohio since the year 2000, and I wanted to ask you for details on all such cases in your county. Since I haven't heard from you, does that mean that there have been no fraud cases in your county since 2000? You can reach me at this email address or by phone at 678-665-5734. Thanks very much for your help.
Sincerely, Alex Remington
