C Z ECH M AT E Habitat for Missions first became invested in the Czech Republic in 2012. Tomas Mojzis and his wife Misha were church planting in the city of Podrebady. Although their ministry was bearing fruit, their missionary support was lacking $1500 a month. Tomas wrote “We have taken on part time jobs to even have enough for the basic necessities of life, but it has been hurting our ministry time and draining our energy fast. Can you help?” In response to their request for assistance, we were able to generate $15,000 over the next year, enabling them to continue serving the Czech people. In 2013, HFM was contacted by Alan and Aimee Williams. They had served in the Czech Republic for two years and were in the US preparing to return once their prayer and financial support team was in place. However, like the Mojzis family, they were struggling financially. Although many individuals and churches were committed to their long term support, the Williams were still about 30% short of meeting their budget. That’s why they asked for our help. In response to the William’s request, I met with the Missions Committee of their home church (Holland Central Wesleyan) and challenged them to raise the needed funds by renovating a HFM home. They agreed to take on the project. Subsequently, we bought a local property, they fixed it up and this month the home was sold generating $30,000 for a second missionary family to the Czech Republic. In the near future, HFM will be buying another investment property in the US which will be developed by a local congregation. One of their members has been serving overseas and the church wants to do all they can to provide for their missionaries’ financial needs. Mean while, this missionary just wants to do whatever the Lord wants...and I might add...wherever He wants. Although I’m not at liberty to release details until plans are solidified, they may be joining the Mojzis and Williams families in the Czech Republic.
