Volunteers are needed to work the Freshman Orientation on Wednesday, January 14th from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sign-up outside Student Services.
The Mattoon High School Riddle yearbook has placed third in the state in its division in the 2014 Illinois Journalism Education Association Yearbook Contest. The staff also garnered the following honors: first place in yearbook copy writing, second place in coverage of the school year, third place in divider pages and sports coverage, and honorable mentions for graphics and theme development. Congrats Riddle staff; you are amazing!
Anyone needing service hours can come to the high school Saturday Jan 17th at 9am to help with the Cheerleading Competition. Help is needed with set up, concessions, and tear down. Also, everyone is invited to cheer on the MHS Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheer Squads as they compete against many squads from the area including the Charleston Cheer Squad! The cost is $5 for a full day of competition!

Attention students needing to take final exam make-ups. Please meet in the library at 3:00 today, Friday, January 8th, for students who do not finish tonight, the library will be open at 8:00 a.m. Please enter the doors on the west side of the building directly into the library.
SkillsUSA's next meeting is January 20th at 4A and 4B Lunch in Room 403. We will discuss fundraising, professional development, state competition, and social activities. Skills USA is doing a fundraiser selling customized phone cases. They are $15 each and you can get a photo, or any customized design put onto them. To order, go to any Skills USA member. (F, M, W, F)
