Daniel: The Furnace

Scripture: Daniel 3:15-17 “ [ Nebuchadnezzar said ]
And who is the god who will deliver you
out of my hands?” They said, If the God we serve exists,
then He can rescue us from the blazing furnace,
and He can rescue us from your power, the king.

Scripture: Daniel 3:18 But even if He does not rescue us,
we want you to know king
that we will not serve your gods
or worship the gold statue you set up.”

Scripture: Daniel 3:29 [ Nebuchadnezzar said ]
“… for there is no other god
who is able to rescue in this way!”

Daniel: The Lion’s Den

Scripture: Daniel 6:26-27 I (Darius) make a decree,
that in all my royal dominion
people are to tremble and fear
before the God of Daniel, for He is the living God, enduring forever; his kingdom shall never be destroyed, and his dominion shall be to the end.

Scripture: Daniel 6:26-27

He delivers and rescues; He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, He who has saved Daniel from the power of the lions.

Chapters 4 & 5 Humbling the Proud

Scripture: Jeremiah 27:1–8 27:6 Now I [ THE LORD ]
have given all these lands into the hand of
 Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon,
my servant, and I have given him also
the beasts of the field to serve him.

Scripture: Daniel 4:17 “ This sentence is by the decree of
 the angelic watchers,
And the decision is a command
 of the holy ones,
In order that the living may know
That the Most High is ruler
over the realm of mankind, And bestows it on whom He wishes, And sets over it the lowliest of men. ”

[I] had them made of bricks with blue stone on which wonderful bulls and dragons were depicted. I covered their roofs by laying majestic cedars… over them. I hung doors of cedar adorned with bronze at all the gate openings. I placed wild bulls and ferocious dragons in the gateways and thus adorned them with luxurious splendor so that people might gaze on them in wonder

Scripture: Daniel 4:37 Now I, Nebuchadnezzar,
 praise and extol and honor
 the King of heaven,
for all His works are right and
 His ways are just;
and those who walk in pride
 He is able to humble.

Scripture: Daniel 5:22 “And you his son, Belshazzar,
 have not humbled your heart,
 though you knew all this,
but you have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven…
you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or know, but the God in whose hand is your breath,
and whose are all your ways, you have not honored.

Scripture: Daniel 4:17 “ This sentence is by the decree of
 the angelic watchers,
