Dear Educators, We are very proud to announce that Hofstra Women’s Basketball will once again host an educational field trip day, and we would like your school to be a part of it! Health and Fitness Education Day will be a fun day of educational activities centered on health, wellness, and fitness, perfect for elementary and middle school students from grades 1-8. Throughout the morning, students will be informed on a variety of fun and exciting health and fitness-related topics. This fun and interactive day will then be capped off with a Hofstra Women’s Basketball game! Event Details: Who: To all Long Island and New York City elementary and middle schools (1st grade through 8th grade) What: Hofstra Women’s Basketball Health and Fitness Education Day When: Friday, January 19, 2018 – from 9:30 a.m. until about 2 p.m. Where: David S. Mack Sports & Exhibition Complex (245 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549) Cost: $5 per person Timeline of events: 9:00 a.m. – Schools arrive at the Mack Sports Complex 9:30 a.m. – Health and Fitness Education Day begins 10:30 a.m. – Presentations end, Students eat lunch, warm-ups begin 11:30 a.m. – Tipoff! Hofstra Women’s Basketball vs. William & Mary 1:30 p.m. – Game is over, schools depart (Please be aware that schools can depart the game any time after halftime) Additional Info: • Students should bring their own brown bag lunches to the game to eat in the stands. • Students should bring some form of writing instrument. All teachers who attend this event will be eligible for 3 CTLE credits. At the event, contact info will be collected and an evaluation form will be sent to you. After you complete and return the form, you will be given the CTLE credits. Schools must sign-up for the event by Friday, December 22, 2017. Because space is limited, we are taking schools on a firstcome, first-served basis.
