North Dakota State University Cheer Team Tryout Information The NDSU Cheer Team is a coed squad that cheers for home and away football games, home men’s and women’s basketball games, and away postseason men’s and women’s basketball games. Tryouts will be held Friday and Saturday, April 3 - 4, 2015. The purpose of the tryout process is to select the best overall individuals for the NDSU Cheer Team. The tryout process includes: 1) a clinic during which time candidates learn the tryout material, 2) an interview, and 3) a formal tryout judged by a panel of experts. GENERAL INFORMATION: ● You must register prior to or at the beginning of the first open stunt practice you attend and prior to participating in any tryout practices or activities. ● You can find a map of the NDSU campus at www.ndsu.edu. ● Proper attire: Absolutely no jewelry is allowed; Women: shorts & tank top, Men: shorts & t-shirt. REQUIREMENTS: ● Fight Song (Learned at Tryouts) ● Cheer & Chants (Learned at Tryouts) ● Toe Touch Jump ● Tumbling (Not required) ● Partner Stunting (Not judged during final tryout) ● Interview ● Submission of all forms listed below REQUIRED TRYOUT EVENTS SCHEDULE: (BENTSON BUNKER FIELDHOUSE) ● Friday, April 3, 4:00 – 8:30 PM ● Saturday, April 4, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM ● Saturday, April 4, 2:00 – 4:00 PM: Final tryout OPTIONAL OPEN STUNTING SCHEDULE: (SHELLY ELLIG INDOOR TRACK & FIELD FACILITY) ● Monday, March 23, 6:30 – 8:00 PM ● Tuesday, March 24, 6:30 – 8:00 PM ● Thursday, March 26, 6:30 – 8:00 PM ● Monday, March 30, 6:30 – 8:00 PM ● Wednesday, April 1, 6:30 – 8:00 PM TRYOUT REGISTRATION: • Mail the following items to the address below. Forms available at www.gobison.com / Fans / Cheer Team.  Tryout Application  Assumption of Risk  $25 Tryout Fee  New NDSU Cheer Team Candidates: Two Letters of Recommendation, one of which must be from a current or previous coach. Please note the individuals writing the letters should mail/email his/her letter directly to the NDSU Cheer Team Coach at the address below. These letters must be received prior to April 3rd.  New NDSU Students: Copy of NDSU Admissions Acceptance Letter.  Current NDSU Students: Copy of current transcript.
