Dear parents and community members, Congratulations to the members of the Class of 2017 and their families. I am so impressed with the academic successes of these seniors, as well as their involvement in athletics, co-curricular activities and community service. These graduates were offered approximately $5.5 million in scholarships and grants for the next four years. And, nearly $65,000 of this amount was awarded from residents, organizations and companies in the Kent area.

As part of our annual Permanent Improvement projects, this summer we are working on roofing and paving updates. In addition, each building and classroom is thoroughly cleaned in preparation for the new school year. Thanks to a program from Portage County Job and Family Services, we are able to employ some Roosevelt students to assist our custodians at no cost to the district. A seasonal crew of three mowers are cutting the grass and weeding at our buildings. This allows our maintenance staff to focus on building repairs and projects.
