December 2011
Dear Members: In 2010, the Executive Committee engaged the accounting firm of RINA to perform an audit review of the Chapter’s finances, management and operations. Because the Chapter has grown significantly over the past few years in membership, funds and programs, we also adopted a policy to conduct an audit review at a minimum of every other year by an accredited accounting firm familiar with 501 (c) 6 organizations. In addition to information of how and what was reviewed by RINA, there are comments and recommendations. I am pleased to let you know that overall, the management and controls we have in place received high marks. The areas indicated for improvement are primarily with record keeping of committees. These recommendations are taken seriously by the Leadership Team and are proactively being addressed. I am pleased to report that our management firm, Holland Parlette Associates, under the management of Ken Miles received highly favorable comments in their organization, financial controls and management processes. I would like to add that our experience with HPA includes an in-depth knowledge and understanding of not-for-profit business associations and outstanding client service has been their hallmark. As a member and stakeholder in our Chapter, the review is attached for your information and review. Should you have any questions or would like additional information please contact me at

Sincerely, Denise de Ville Treasurer l Immediate Past President
