Dates for your Diary Dear Parents/Carers, As we come to the end of another year we would like to thank our parents and carers again for all your support. Thank you also to those who have given cards and gifts to staff. Your generosity is much appreciated by us all. We would also like to thank the Sholing Valley Rotary Club for their generous donation of over £1000 for children’s Christmas presents. They raise money for us every year and we are very grateful for all their support and kindness. Thanks also go to the staff who give their own time to select individual presents, buy and wrap them. May I wish you all a very happy Christmas and New Year break however you are celebrating at this holiday time. Jackie Partridge, Headteacher

Christmas Performances Thank you to everyone who attended the 3 Christmas performances. It was lovely to see so many families and well done to all our wonderful children who performed so well. Congratulations to Dylan’s mum and dad, Gary’s dad and Ben’s mum who won the raffles. We raised £116 for Hearing Dogs.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People The current total raised for Hearing Dogs is an amazing £4,336 which is 86% towards our target of £5,000 already! Thanks to staff and pupils for all their fantastic efforts. Do have a look at our Just Giving Page: https:// www.justgiving.com/Springwell-SchoolHDDP/. We are participating in a charity abseil during July/August next year and if any parents would like to join us please do let Maria Burrows know. Well done to everyone!
New online payment system—Parent Pay
Hopefully you will have received information about the introduction of our new online payment system Parent Pay. You should have received your sign on details which will enable you to set up your account. Parent Pay will go live on Monday 4th January 2016 and all payments for lunches, after school clubs, trips etc will need to be made via this system or via a Paypoint card which can be acquired from the school office. Should you need any help or assistance with your Parent Pay accounts, please contact the office.

Reminders
Please ensure that your child’s name is clearly marked on lunch boxes, uniform, shoes, coats/hats/scarves, PE kits and spare clothes.
If you have to take your child out of school to attend a scheduled morning appointment and your child is returning in time for lunch, please inform the class teacher via the Home School Book so that school dinners can be ordered for them for the following day. Due to pressure on the kitchen, school dinners cannot be ordered if a child arrives at school after 10.30 am in which case you will have to provide your child with a packed lunch.
If someone new, e.g. other parents, Rose Road or other respite carers are collecting your child, please let us know via the Home School Book.
If you are making any payments to school, please put the money in an envelope with your child’s name and the reason, e.g. dinner money.
This half term, Angus has been showing us how to Be good at looking and
listening. Christmas Jumper Day Friday 18th December
Just a reminder that the children are invited to come in wearing Christmas Jumpers on the last day of term — Friday 18th Dec. While we will be having lots of fun, we also want to raise money for Save the Children. We would be grateful for donations of £1 on that day.
