CHRISTMAS IN LAS CRUCES
It’s that time of year again! The holiday season is upon us with Christmas right around the corner. It’s a season of celebration shared over good food with good company. Here at Calvary, we have adopted a new focus of shifting our eyes toward those around us. The work with Casa de Peregrinos helped supply food to those who really needed it for Thanksgiving, and Calvary was honored to be a part of the process, both monetarily and by flooding the facilities with over 200 eager volunteers. As Christmas approaches we want to continue to shift the focus toward those around us. Calvary Worship Arts has an opportunity to take part in the Christmas on the Plaza event, hosted by 98.7 Classic Rock, in downtown Las Cruces on Sunday, December 17th. The event will run from 1-7pm, and Calvary has been given two 30-minute sets to play during the evening portion. Calvary people will be handing out flyers for our Christmas in Las Cruces Christmas Eve service event. Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday, and we will be holding identical services on that day at 10am and 5pm. Our Christmas in Las Cruces services will include a dance performance by the Sugar Plum Fairies, a selection of songs performed by children in our D:6 Ministry, a story time for children, a message from Pastor Kevin, and, of course, Christmas carols! We want this to be an event that we don’t keep to ourselves. Instead we want Las Cruces to join us in worship and celebration together! As New Year’s Eve also falls on a Sunday, Calvary will have only one service that day at 10am, and no Sunday morning groups will meet.
