Helping Your Child at Home At home you can use a multi-sensory approach to learning letters and sounds. Multi-sensory learning is learning that involves two or more of the senses within the same activity. - Say a word - Have your child repeat the word - Spell the word using concrete letters such as refrigerator magnets. Say each sound. Your child can see and touch the letters in the word. - Use a picture of the word to see it in a different format than just spelling.

Kindness is our character word for the month of December. Throughout the year, we share the importance of kindness with our students. The holiday season is a wonderful time of year to show what kindness is all about! May we all give the gift of kindness to others each and every day.
Please make sure your child comes to school with a coat!! With the COLD weather, it is very important for students to stay warm. If the temperature is above 32 degrees, the students will be going outside! Please contact the school counselor if your child is in need of a winter coat.
If your child is absent, please be sure to turn in a written statement or doctors note.
D is for Determination Students need to hear their parents say that making an effort, working hard and planning ahead are important. We need to encourage children to set reasonable expectations and celebrate with them when they make progress toward their goals. Children need to learn that sometimes they must sacrifice to achieve a long-term goal. Struggling with learning tasks from time to time is a part of a student’s “job.” In the end, the feeling of accomplishment they get will lead to bigger and better accomplishments in the future!
