Step 1 — Battery



Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power supply



Locate the two release tabs by turning the laptop over



Press the release tabs towards the center to remove the battery



Remove the battery

Step 2 — Keyboard 

Remove the two countersunk keyboard screws using the Phillips #00 screwdriver

 Battery removal is not necessary for keyboard removal.

Step 3 

Lift up the keyboard using your fingers or a plastic opening tool

 Do not not tear the ribbon cable hidden behind the keyboard 

Disconnect the cable by sliding the connector ears outward



After removing the keyboard, use the plastic opening tools or other form of leverage to remove the rest of the silver casing

Step 4 — Speakers

 Depending on your model, there could still be some hidden screws on the bottom case of the laptop that hold the palm-rest in place.

Step 5 

Use a plastic opening tool to pry the silver portion front of the top away from the colored portion.



There should be two small screws to the bottom corners of the speaker assembly, which can be found below the screen. Unscrew them.



NOTE: Keep track of where you put the screws after you remove them. Keep screws of the same size together and away from screws of different sizes.

Step 7 

There should be a cable coming off the speakers that connects to the base below the keyboard. It should easily slide out from here. Congratulations! You have successfully removed the speakers.
