Design Flaw Search OBJECTIVES STEP 1 | L E A R N Students will learn about how to avoid design disasters in the Design Flaw Search exit ticket.
STEP 2 | P R A C T I C E Students will identify design flaws on a spread in the Design Flaw Search exit ticket.
STEP 3 | U S E Students will utilize knowledge to identify flaws on the spreads they have in their publication.

Design Flaw Search Great yearbook design consistently follows certain rules including: » Maintain the integrity of the section design template. Section personality and consistency are critical in reader-friendly innovative graphic design. » Create a planned look with consistent column widths for common elements and established, consistent spacing between all common elements. » Place photos logically and creatively to spark reader interest and to promote an eye flow, keeping readers engaged in the spread. Place vertical and horizontal content in appropriately shaped spaces. Choose each photo so it contributes distinctive, dramatic content to the spread story. Include varied numbers of people in each shot. Make sure captions are natural extensions of shoots and photo collections so readers know which captions accompany which photos. » Write headlines, stories and captions to fit allotted spaces. Find and circle at least five flaws in the following design. Explain the flaw in the space provided below.
