Camelot & Ellison The open expanse of this kitchen blends the lines of architecture with the warmth of nature’s tranquil charm. Muted tones of creams and browns with the soft grey of Harbor Mist are offset by the striking tones of Eagle Rock. Pairing styles and finishes invites self-expression and imagination, complementing this classic design with modern simplicity. Including cabinetry beyond the kitchen adds convenience, display space, and specialized storage for the tasks at hand. While this dinette hutch is traditional in its outward appearance, modern appliances have been integrated throughout. Concealed by matching fronts, a warming drawer heats breads until ready for serving while refrigeration drawers keep beverages and snacks nearby for entertaining.

St.Andrews & Camelot Great works of art have a focal point; I want my new kitchen to have a focal point like a masterful work of art. With a tribute to the classic architecture of columns and beams, St. Andrews in Amaretto provides a warm background for the stunning allure of the aged and distressed Appaloosa finish. My home should be a combination of continuity and surprise. Classic styling often includes ceiling and base moldings, paneling, and other grand details to communicate a sense of grace, quality and timelessness. Blending styles and finishes is a decorating trend that has gained popularity in recent years. In this bath suite, painted and wood finishes, inset and overlay cabinetry, and various textiles and modern amenities are combined to create a traditional, yet chic, motif. Potter’s Mill ‘Think simple’ as my old master used to say—meaning reduce the whole of its parts into the simplest terms, getting back to first principles. This warm and inviting kitchen invokes a gathering in its classic Arts and Crafts style. From tapered feet in pedestal arrangements to a wood hood complete with a display nook. The design motif is carried throughout the room with cabinetry in light maple and trim in dark oak. A fireplace is enhanced by a mid tone stain on cherry. The space within becomes the reality of the building. There is often a perception that it’s difficult to achieve our dream kitchen when designing in a small space. But great design can truly transform any area. While overhead soffit space is often unutilized in older homes, this redesign added cabinetry that appears to have always been there. A Craftsman Bungalow theme flows throughout, in harmony with the architecture of the home. Blending new seamlessly with original is great design, creating the feel it was always meant to be there. Providence While styles and trends are in a constant changing motion, some things are better the first time around. Somewhere between Traditional and Contemporary lives a unique style called Transitional. It offers a design platform to create unique features like this island (below) that seems to be floating in mid air. A multi-media palette is common and may include glass, wood and metal, while details like moldings tend to be minimized. Far from “anything goes”, Transitional design demands a perfect blending of yesterday and today resulting in a new twist on an old theme.

Mission & Trinity Home is not a mere transient shelter; its essence lies in the personalities of the people who live in it. The modern approach in design has many faces, the least of which involves the appeal of Asian culture as shown in this kitchen. A bold color palette of specialty finishes influence the latest trends in this modern design, while the neutral backdrop calls to the serenity of minimalism. Clean lines, natural materials, and integrated cabinet features support the time-tested modern approach in this design.
The unique design of this freestanding piece was created by utilizing Trinity door mullion complemented by the specialty finishes of Pinot Noir and Vineyard.

Making display space practical is an art in itself. Patterned decorative glass states elegance on the outside with an obscure view to the inside. Open shelving and cross-patterned framework offers more options for display space in your design.

Glenwood Simplicity is the final achievement. Modern style is often found in loft or industrial residences, such as this dwelling, due to the overall simplicity of the architecture. In settings like this it is typical for the living spaces to flow easily from one to the next, and for furnishings to create a bold design statement. The essence of the modern home is uniquely defined, limited only by the imagination. This Glenwood kitchen offers a soft approach to modern design with eased corners and edges and solid wood construction available in a variety of wood species. The wood species can be simple and warm, like the maple Chestnut shown here or more organic like hickory or rustic cherry. The finish greatly impacts the look as well and can steer the design to bold and linear or soft and free form.

Bella
Fashion fades, only style remains the same. The Bella door is one of the most flexible door style for Transitional, Modern or Contemporary styling options. Defined by specialty-selected cuts of maple, cherry or oak veneers, the Bella door style maintains a narrow color range with tight vertical grain patterns. This creates a monochromatic display of the finish selected without losing the natural character of the wood. (Below) Incorporating an array of textures can be the perfect complement to the simplistic Bella door. Frosted and Horizontal Reeded decorative glass inserts are an otherwise unusual pair, but create the perfect accent to the wood tones and overall design in this display.

Barcelona The greatness of art is not to find what is common, but what is unique. Valencia Style is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma. Influenced by the character of Mediterreanean architecture, the Valencia design is at home in style themed rooms such as this, yet is versatile enough for a traditional environment. A center island is one of the most frequently used areas within the kitchen and can be a beautiful focal point in your design. Prep space can be tailored to your specific needs, such as an elevated chopping block shown at the end of this island.

Venice Design is where science and art break even. From the distant villas of Tuscany’s wine country, comes the refined elegance of the Venice door style. Featuring a soft contoured mitered frame with a subtle raised center panel, the Venice door is a wonderfully flexible style ready to stand elegantly amongst Traditional architecture or adorn the walls of a quaint cottage. Each work zone in this kitchen has been designed as freestanding arrangements. This trend works well in large, open plans and complements architecture steeped in tradition. The unfitted design concept performs in a more concealed manner, bringing attention to the beauty of the cabinet moldings and turnings, while disguising the necessary functionality.

Tahiti & Fiji Style is a simple way of saying complicated things. Not to be mistaken with a miss-matched montage, this kitchen takes design to a new level of eclecticism offering a wide array of finishes, textures, shapes, and intricate details to complete the unexpected composition.
