East Bay Connection Dining Hall Hello, my name is Benjamin Nelson, the new Site Manager at East Bay Camp & Retreat. I’m writing you with good news about our facilities. Since your last visit to camp a number of wonderful improvements have been completed, and others are underway. The first project we wish to share with you is the status of our dining hall window remodel. Over

Maples Camp We are excited at the progress in Maples Camp. Our cabins on the west side are completely remodeled, and we are down to 6 cabins that are partially finished on the east side. The great

60 new windows have been installed in the main dining room and the two wings. The windows are energy efficient double pane glass. We are seeing a huge difference in our heating costs, air flow and pressure in the building. Our next step in the dining hall is to break ground on our bathroom addition. This addition to the main dining room will contain a hallway and 2 bathroom facilities. Each men’s and women’s room will contain 4 stalls and sinks. We are excited

to say that both of these projects have been funded with a large portion coming from the members of Flanagan UMC. One of our goals this year is to bring air conditioning to our dining hall facility. We are still in the research phase for this project and are looking for partners and talent in the field of heating and AC to achieve this goal. Bringing air conditioning to the Dining Hall would allow guest to enjoy their meal in a more comfortable surrounding If you are interested in helping with this project please contact us.

news is Youth Build and Coal City UMC have volunteered their labor this spring to finish our cabins. Our goal is to have all of the cabins remodeled and finished by June. We need funds for 40 sheets of plywood, 4 exhaust fans and hardware, paint, and shingles. Unfortunately our funds have been exhausted for

this project. We will need a $1000 in February for the remodeling to continue. Another $2000 will be needed for shingles and paint for our April work groups. If you are interested in helping with the Maples Cabin Adoption project, please send your donation to East Bay Camp.

Roots, Ropes, and Trees at East Bay Summer Camp For more information visit us at www.igrc.org Benjamin Nelson Site Manager [email protected] Lea Schuler Office and Retreat Manager [email protected] Last year we introduced a new activity at East Bay Camp. Tree Climbing!!! The response was great and the youth expressed an interest in having a week long Tree Climbing Camp. Roots, Ropes, and Trees - We will be strengthening our roots in faith through Bible study, devotions, and

worship while we learn how, in a much more tangible way, to apply faith to our lives. We will be treeclimbing every day. If you experienced tree-climbing last year at camp, then you know how fun it is. This camp will take it to the next level. Don’t miss out on this great camp. Room is limited register early!
