Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club Title: Director of Communications, Marketing, and Partnerships Position Summary: This position will report directly to the Executive Director. The person in this new role will have responsibility for all CRYSC communications, marketing, and partnership strategies and development. This person will also work closely with the Executive Director to determine and carry out partnership and fundraising objectives determined by the growing needs of the Club. The person in this position should have relevant full-time experience in several or all of the areas described below. Start Date: November 2014. The Director of Communications, Marketing, and Partnerships will be responsible for the following areas: I. Communications Develop, lead and carry out the organization's communications strategy, including: The development, implementation, and oversight of all internal and external communications Oversee the CRYSC’s internal calendar and ensure visible promotion of all regular/ongoing programs and special events Responsible for updating, maintaining, and all content management of the CRYSC website, and ensuring consistent messaging across all communications platforms Creation and strategic use of a variety of relevant electronic and social media tools including the CRYSC website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogs, newsletters, etc. to ensure effective communications with the organization’s membership and the broader public Lead traditional media efforts to communicate with the broader public regarding our soccer programming and community efforts Build and maintain active media lists and serve as the point of contact for media requests or related groups Create informational documents for distribution to current and potential partners in order to concisely promote our programs and opportunities for collaboration In collaboration with CRYSC staff develop strategies to collect information and feedback from the membership in order to inform the future priorities of CRYSC
II. Marketing and Outreach Develop and implement a marketing and outreach strategy to enhance community awareness and support and the continued growth and quality of CRYSC programs including: In collaboration with CRYSC staff determine timeframes and events for focused outreach activities and establish an annual calendar of events/activities Ensure promotion and outreach in defined targeted areas of growth as determined by the organization’s leadership specifically for the U4-10 age groups Guarantee effective branding of all print materials, advertising, and promotional items Collaborate and ensure consistent communications with Colorado Rapids staff to leverage events and opportunities for mutual promotions Develop innovative plans and strategies to promote CRYSC programs and events Perform an annual analysis of marketing and outreach strategies to determine best possible approach for future engagements III. Partnerships Continue the stewardship and development of CRYSC sponsorship partnerships and opportunities and develop a plan for sustainability including: Close collaboration with Colorado Rapids staff and KSE Sponsorship Team to ensure fidelity of CRYSC sponsorship responsibilities as well as maximized leverage of overall sponsorship opportunities Create and maintain an up to date inventory on all possible sponsorship opportunities and requests and provide accurate information on request to the CRYSC leadership and board members and Colorado Rapids/KSE staff Actively seek out and pursue new sponsorship opportunities for all CRYSC programs (youth soccer, Soccer for Success, Zarlengo, tournaments) while maintaining a commitment to the Colorado Rapids exclusive category rights IV. Other: Fundraising and Event Management Assist with the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy targeting corporate and individual donations and provide planning assistance for all CRYSC events: In collaboration with CRYSC Soccer for Success staff, determine and secure potential corporate and individual funding sources in order to achieve programmatic fundraising benchmarks In collaboration with the Executive Director, assist in the creation of viable fundraising plans that draw from multiple and diverse resources and develop new and innovative fundraising events Provide communications, advertising and marketing needs to all major CRYSC events Lead the implementation of Colorado Rapids partnered fundraising events (i.e. 50/50 Raffle) to ensure legal compliance, day of management, and maximized profits Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Director of Communications, Marketing, and Partnerships will have partial supervision over an administrative staff member that will contribute to the day to day content management and oversight of all communications platforms and messaging.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in either communications, marketing, or related field 3-5 years full time experience in either communications, marketing, fundraising or related field Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and adhere to defined performance deadlines Positive approach and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service to our membership and partners Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree in a relevant field 5+ years full time experience in either communications, marketing, fundraising or related field Related experience in youth sport or youth soccer organizations Experience within the Denver community leading to strong knowledge of local media, potential sponsors and partnerships *Knowledge and/or understanding of non-profit working environments and youth sport or youth soccer organizations a plus but not required for the position.
