Discover Evanston’s Notable Places Three bike tours and one walking tour of notable Evanston places have been planned by Design Evanston for this summer and fall. The places on each tour are featured in the book, “Evanston: 150 Years 150 Places” published by Design Evanston in 2013. Books ($15 cash/check only) will be available for purchase at the end of each tour. All tours will last approximately 1.5 hours and will be led by four authors of the book. Bike riders must wear a helmet and are encouraged to bring a water bottle. Ride pace between stops will be “relaxed” or “casual” (10-12 mph). Ride leaders will lead the group back to the start. Participants on the walking tour, co-sponsored by the Evanston History Center, will also return to the start. Light refreshments will be provided at the end of each tour. The cost for each bike tour is $10 per person and for the walking tour, $20 per person, payable (cash/check) at the start of the tour. Reservations are required by contacting: [email protected]. Tours are limited to 20 people.
