Distinguished Service Leadership Program Award Criteria “To recognize a K‐Kids, Builders, Key Club, Circle K and Aktion club for their leadership, commitment and dedication.” 1. Nominations should include the following information: a. Number of volunteer hours by the SLP club's members during the past SLP year. b. Community service project(s) performed by the SLP during the past SLP year. 2. The SLP must be in good standing with Kiwanis International. 3. Nominations from each Kiwanis club is encouraged, but the club's board must approve nominations. 4. The District Secretary must receive nominations by July 1 with the award announced at District Convention, but presented by the sponsoring Kiwanis club to the SLP at a private presentation after the school year begins. 5. The District Administrators for K‐Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, Circle K and Aktion Club, and a Lt. Governor from Nebraska and a Lt. Governor from Iowa will review all nominations and select the recipient(s). 6. The selection committee shall reserve the right each year, based on the quality of the nominations received, as to whether the award will be presented. 7. The sponsoring Kiwanis club(s) submitting the winning nominee(s) will be notified as soon as possible following the selection. The club will be responsible for making any travel arrangements necessary to get the SLP award winners to the convention for the announcement if the winners would or could be present. The District will provide two (2) meal tickets to the winner in each category (K‐Kids, Builders, Key, Circle K and Aktion).
