What is Ultimate? Ultimate is a fast paced non-contact sport that mixes aspects of multiple sports. It is played on a soccer field sized field, when you catch the Frisbee you must stop moving and to score you must catch the disc in the end zone- much like football. What if I have never played? That’s just fine! Come and learn the sport. Most people have not played at a competitive level before. Learn how the throw a disc, the basic offense and have a ton of fun doing it. Want to talk to players or parents of players on the team? Just let us know! We can give you phone numbers of parents who mentioned that they are very willing to help spread the sport! What is the cost? Very low. All you need are cleats and a disc. (Discs provided). $7 for liability insurance. Free field space. J When is the season? The team will play during summer. We practice twice a week and play tourneys in Grand Rapids, Chicago, Muskegon and Detroit. Who do we play?? There are 60+ high school teams in Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. We are the only Grand Rapids team right now. There are dozens of club teams in Michigan and almost every area college has a team. SO—there is no shortage of teams to play. Parents are encouraged to contact us! Parents have questions; I’d love to give answers. I also need help with the team in many aspects, chaperones and would just love to chat!
