SciQuest Posted Questions and Responses Updated: March 28, 2017 Project No. 525002524 500 South Diversion, Phase 1 Pipeline Addendum No. 8 Question Question No. 84 Detail F on CD-02 Calls for the Trench Backfill to be the same 3/4 inch crushed rock that is used for bedding as per specs 02300 which spec indicates that the select or common fill should be placed above the bedding. Does the owner want 3/4 in crushed rock for the trench zone backfill or some other material? 85 Detail F on CD-02 note 6 states "Contractor is paid with 22" force main bid line item (Entire Alignment)." Is this to mean that we are to include the soft spot excavation detail for the entire alignment, or what percentage of the time are we going to be required to install trench stabilization? 86 The sheet notes on M-07 indicate to coat the manhole interior in accordance with section 09875. Is this all of the manholes or just the 12' manhole? The energy dissipation structure indicates references the same spec but neither the pig retrieval vault nor the odor control vaults reference this. What structures do we need to coat?
Response The backfill is to be placed as shown in detail F on CD-02
Soft Material is expected for the entire alignment.
Concrete coating is only required on the structures where it is called out. Note 1 on M-07 is a Sheet Note, so it applies to all manholes shown on the sheet. This includes both the 12 ft manhole and the access manholes. Note 1 on M-05 applies to the vault shown on this sheet.
