Domelands, Lam ont Pinnacles, Various Ascents. Lamont Pinnacles is one o f those seldom vis­ ited areas positioned near the southeastern fringe o f the Domelands W ilderness. Its lofty position overlooking a Joshua Tree-like environment, locally known as the “C anebrake,” offers a late autumn to early spring playground. First clim bed in the 1960s via their back sides to the east, Lamont Pinnacles hadn’t seen much more activity until the 1980s, and then again in the mid’90s. This spring, Ron Felton, Jim Shroadt, Kenny Hardin and I climbed over a half-dozen routes o f one to seven pitches in length. M entionable classics on each o f the northernm ost spires from north to south are Waiting To Exhale (seven pitches, III 5.10), I f ‘60s Were ‘90s (six pitches, III 5.10), California D ream in’ (five pitches, III 5.8), V (two pitches, I 5.10+) and Energizer Bunny (5.9).
