Don’t Quit When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit… Rest if you must, but don’t you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a person turns about When they might have won had they stuck it out. Don’t give up though the pace seems slow… You may succeed with another blow.
FOR
Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victor’s cup; And he learned too late when the night came down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out… So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit… It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.

Obituary Sunrise February 23, 1933
Order of Service Sunset April 30, 2017
Mr. William Robinson transitioned from this earthly place in Camden, South Carolina on April 30, 2017. Born in Camden, SC, he was the son of the late Elias Robinson and the late Lucy McClendon Robinson. Mr. Robinson was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Mr. Robinson left South Carolina in the early 1950s with a 5th grade education and became a master gardener and landscaper working on some of the finest homes on Long Island, NY. In New York, he was known as a hard-working, fun-loving, dedicated family man who was chef-like on a charcoal grille and was given the name “Lil Partner” because he was shorter than one of his late brothers (‘Big Partner’) that lived nearby. He returned to Camden in 1989 after an accident in 1981 that left him a paraplegic. He enjoyed an independent life until age took away his lifelong strength.
Mr. Robinson leaves behind a lone brother, Tommy of Camden, SC, and joins other siblings (Elias, Jr., Allen, Minnie, Lauretta, Ida and Lucy) that preceded him in death. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, William Stanley of Columbia, SC, Steve Allen of Roosevelt, NY, Sharon Ann and Sylvesta Sydney, both of Camden, SC who were born via his marriage to Ruth Dorothy (Brevard) Robinson, originally of Camden, SC. Mr. Robinson was grandfather to Evita Turquoise and Sarafina Marquise (William Stanley), Jewel Shariee (Steve), the late Shalanda Williams (Sharon), and Alisha Crystal (Sylvesta). Mr. Robinson spent part of his final weekend laughing and kissing his first great grandchild, Kali Marie (Alisha). A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends join the immediate family in celebration of Mr. Robinson’s life.
