Baseball & Softball Camp DoublePlayCamps.com Camp Philosophy Camp Directors Pete Moore Since 2002 Pete has been the Head Coach at Hatboro-Horsham High School. The 1999 Atlantic10 Pitcher of the Year while at Temple University, Pete also played minor league baseball with the Madison Blackwolf and the Allentown Ambassadors.
Toby Fisher Toby is currently the Assistant Head Coach at La Salle University and has been with La Salle since 2006. Toby returned to his alma mater after three years at Temple University as the hitting and pitching coach, and as an Assistant Coach at HatboroHorsham and Germantown Academy High Schools.
Operating since 2005, the staff at Double Play Baseball & Softball Camp takes great pride in running a highly organized and fun-filled week of baseball and softball for our campers. Double Play Baseball & Softball Camp builds upon the same skills and attitudes learned from their coaches during their Little League season, and from their families all year round. Our campers not only learn baseball and softball skills, but they also learn sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-confidence.
Camp Activities Each summer we provide one-week sessions of baseball and softball instruction for boys and girls aged 6-15. We guide the campers through some of the following activities, all taught at varying degrees of difficulty based on each individual player's skill levels. -Hitting Stations -Pitching Mechanics -Bunting Techniques -Daily Games
-Fielding Drills -Base Running Drills -Skills Competitions -Awards Ceremonies
Camp Staff
John Thygeson John is the former GM and Head Coach of the Morelanders American Legion team, and currently volunteers his time as a coach in the East Abington Little League where his four sons play. John played at Southern Connecticut State University.
Ellie White The former Philadelphia Inquirer “Coach of the Year,” Ellie is entering her 21st year as Head Coach at Abington High School. Ellie was a four-year starting shortstop at East Stroudsburg University where she is still second in career assists.
Dave Torresani
Tegan Wendell
Dave is the Head Baseball Coach at Abington Senior High School and is the former Roslyn Legion head coach. Dave played at PSUAbington and East Stroudsburg University.
Tegan played at Gwynedd Mercy College. The three-year captain had a career .381 batting average and was twice selected to the CSAC all-star team.
Dennis Reilly Dennis is the current assistant coach at Hatboro-Horsham High School. Dennis played at Lebanon Valley College.
Dave Ventresca Dave is the Assistant Coach at Abington High School and for the 12U and 13U Abington Angels and has led the team to a spot in the 2012 USSSA 13U World Series. Contact us for information on softball team discounts!
