Dovecliff Hall Hotel is a handsome Grade II listed former country house built in 1790 for a local family that later married into the Bass family. The house was bought by the Charrington family in 1897 and later again by Bass at around the time that the Bass and Charrington breweries in Burton upon Trent merged.

The A38 provides access to the M1 at junctions 24 and 24A via the A50 and the M/A42 via the A511. Birmingham is 35 miles to the south via the A38 and M6 Toll Road. Burton upon Trent has good rail access with a mainline station in the town and is within 20 and 32 miles of East Midlands and Birmingham International Airports respectively. Dovecliff Hall originally opened as a hotel in 1928 but reverted to a private house in 1936 in which use it remained until 1987 when it reopened as a Dovecliff Hall Hotel. The property is constructed of red brick with a stone band at first floor level under a hipped slate roof. The building was extended in around 2003 with the addition of a glazed orangery, function room and a block of bedrooms at the rear. The hotel retains the features and grand rooms of the original house with the modern extensions blending particularly well into the older structure. The hotel is approached along a sweeping drive from Dovecliff Road leading to a car park and the hotel reception at the front of the building.
