DK9000 CORROSION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM The Simple Science of Corrosion Corrosion is an electrochemical reaction in metal. Steel is a man-made substance produced from iron ore and additives. During the steel refining process, impurities are added. When the steel and impurities are exposed to the environment, an electrical reaction occurs – corrosion.

DK9000 In The Wet and High Humidity
Moisture covers the surface of the vehicle forming a continuous electrolyte and electrons travel over the surface of the metal towards the anode providing extra protection to scratches and bare metal.
The Solution Electronic corrosion control uses regulated electrical current to prevent the corrosive attack on metal. There are two methods: Impressed Current and Sacrificial Anode. While most corrosion control products use one of these methods, DK9000 uses both for true effectiveness. Electronic corrosion control technology has proven to reduce corrosion for years on automobiles, underground pipelines, naval vessels, boats and bridges.

During DK9000 installation, sacrificial anodes are strategically attached to the vehicle. A positive charge of +35-45 volts is put onto these anodes, which causes a strong attraction of free electrons away from the vehicle and onto the anodes. This causes the anodes to corrode (sacrifice) rather than the vehicle.
Even in dry/ low humidity conditions, the DK9000 System has the ability to draw free electrons away from the metal and towards the anodes providing protection to scratches, problem areas, and existing rust within the metal.

Pulse Impressed Current The +35-45 volts that are applied to the anodes causes a uniform flow of free electrons (impressed current) throughout the metal of the vehicle. The constant flow of free electrons in the metal prevents them from attacking the steel and causing corrosion.

DK9000 Corrosion Management System
INDEPENDENT LABORATORY TESTED “Two automotive grade steel panels, painted using automotive painting standards, were exposed to 1500 hours of salt spray testing according to ASTM B117. The panels were prepared for the corrosion test according to ASTM D1654 Test Method for Evaluation of Painted or Coated Specimens subject for Corrosive Environments. One of the panels was attached to the DK9000 module while another served as a control, without being attached to such a system.
