Drag and Drop fields in Tabular Reports A dimension characteristic or measure can be added on a tabular report in Design mode using drag and drop in a Web Intelligence report.

Drag and Drop a field in a blank column A dimension characteristic or measure can be drag and dropped on a table blank column in a Web Intelligence report in Design mode. 1. Open a Web Intelligence document in Design mode. 2. Select a column in the report and then insert a blank column either left or right side using the context menu item ‘Insert’ or from Table Layout subtab in Report Elements tab.

3. Select the dimension attribute or measure from Available Objects panel that you want to add to the report.

4. Press and hold the left mouse key and keep dragging towards the blank column. You will notice a rectangle icon moving along with the mouse cursor saying drop here to replace cell. 5. Also notice the rectangular empty boxes appearing in the column header directing you with the additional information that the dropped column will fill in the space.

If you keep moving the cursor inside all corner of this box with still holding the left mouse key, you will see the message inside rectangle icon

drop here to replace or insert cell. In this example, we are going to choose replace cell to replace the blank column. But if you are dragging an object and dropping near an existing nonblank column, before you release the mouse key, please read this icon message carefully and drop it. If your icon says replace cell, it means it is replacing the current column. If the icon says insert cell which means you are inserting either before or after the cell depending on your cursor location.

6. Drop inside the rectangle box or inside the cell in the column with the drop icon message still says ‘Drop here to replace cell’.

Notice the new selected field attribute occupies the blank column with the #REFRESH value in the cells. 7. Repeat from step 2 if you want to add more columns. 8. Refresh the report again to see the correct values in the drag and dropped column.

Drag and Drop a field near non-blank columns A dimension characteristic or measure can be drag and dropped on a table column that will insert or replace in a Web Intelligence report in Design mode. 1. In picture above, a new column that will be inserted next to Job Pay area on the right side is depicted. 5. Now drag and drop near the right side of the rectangle box or inside the cell in the column with the drop icon message still says ‘Drop here to insert cell’.
