QUOTE: Professor Reyadh Almehaideb, Vice President of Zayed University.

•The UAE is built on visionary thinking and initiatives that thrive on new ideas and concepts, and is a focal point for new development in the region – culturally, socially and politically. • With the growing interest in the fields of art and technology, ISEA2014 will provide a unique opportunity to connect audiences and artists from the Middle East with the international art community, meeting in galleries, universities, shopping malls, and public parks across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

Frequently asked questions

• QUOTE “This Symposium event involved not just a hotel or convention centre, but the whole city. It was held in a range of university venues in and around Dubai, including Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, plus a number of galleries, museums and art venues. • ISEA is an international organisation so people came to the Symposium from all over the world. • Americans in particular had concerns before arriving about security issues, cultural differences and the situation of women in the Middle East. But coming to Dubai changed their whole perception of this part of the world. • ISEA2014 served to engage, not just the Dubai metro area, but other parts of the UAE through satellite events, residencies and related projects”.
