Job Description: Lower School Division Head (ECC-2nd Grade) Job Status: Full Time Reports to: Head of School Schedule: 12-month Contract Summer duties: Summer includes administrative work, long-range planning, analysis of pertinent issues to be addressed in the next school year, and planning for necessary changes Purpose of the job To ensure the continuity and coordination of education and events in and between divisions; to provide administrative support to the Head of School; to promote the vision, mission, values, and philosophy of St. Paul’s School Major tasks & duties Provides leadership in the form of supervision, coaching, mentoring, advising, and guiding teachers Oversees the education program and instructional practices Communicates with all members of the St. Paul’s administrative, faculty, parent, student community Guides and disciplines students Represents division at committee, administrative, leadership and governance levels of administration Manages the division budget and other resources of the division Coordinates curricular and extra-curricular events, division traditions and ceremonies Other tasks & responsibilities Assist in enrollment screenings, evaluations, reviews, and re-enrollment Assists in hiring of personnel Assists in across the division and employee policies and procedures (like scheduling classes and teachers, emergency preparedness) Required knowledge & skills Effective interpersonal oral and written communication Basic understanding of budgeting and expense management Computer skills, including word processing, presentation software, spreadsheets, email and internet Supervision skills Flexible skills to respond to urgent and immediate situations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education Master’s degree in a related field preferred Teaching experience in grade levels supervised preferred Previous leadership and supervisory experience preferred Physical demands Incumbents must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
