Position Description Educators 4 Excellence (E4E) Position: Outreach Director Primary Location: New York, NY The Organization Educators 4 Excellence (E4E) is an organization of education professionals who seek to provide an independent voice for educators in the debate surrounding education policy. For far too long, education policy has been created without a critical voice at the table – the voice of teachers. Created by two Bronx teachers in spring 2010, E4E envisions a high quality, prestigious teaching profession that is responsible for driving positive student outcomes. E4E’s strategy to achieve this vision is to bring together a group of diverse, like-minded professionals in the field of education - current and former teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators, and provide a forum to learn about, discuss and take action around key issues within the education system. With a common goal of putting the needs of children first, E4E shares research about current practices and policies in order to enhance the quality of the education debate; creates opportunities to network with likeminded colleagues and high level policymakers through panel discussions, speakers and peer discussions; and advocates for meaningful reform of education policies at the district and state level by putting teachers’ voices at the forefront of the conversation. Since its inception, E4E has engaged over 3,000 teachers in New York and seeks to increase the voice of teachers as a driving force in education policy by continuing to grow the E4E network. As an innovative, fast-growing, solutions-oriented non-profit organization, we operate in an entrepreneurial environment and are committed to continuous improvement. For more information, please visit http://www.educators4excellence.org/ The Position Reporting to the Vice President of Outreach, the Outreach Director will play a critical role in the effort to engage teachers in the education policy conversation.
