Eager Beaver Football… The Tradition Begins Here! Parent Code of Ethics: In keeping with the Beavercreek City School district and the guidelines of the Ohio High School Athletic Association, the Eager Beaver Football Club expects the following behaviors from parents and spectators: 1.
Remember that s/he is at a contest to support and yell for the team and to enjoy the skill and competition, not to intimidate or ridicule the other team and its fans.
2.
Remember that youth football is a learning experience for the athletes and mistakes are sometimes made. Praise student athletes in their attempt to improve themselves as athletes and as people. The game is for the youth, not the adults.
3.
Remember that a ticket to an athletic event is a privilege to observe the contest, not a license to verbally assault others and be generally obnoxious.
4.
Learn the rules of the game and the league, so that s/he may understand and appreciate why certain situations take place.
5.
Show respect for the opposing players, coaches and spectators. Treat them as one would treat a guest in his/her own home.
6.
Refrain from taunting and making any derogatory remarks to other parents, spectators, and opponents during the season, especially comments of ethnicity, racial or of sexual nature.
7.
Respect the integrity and judgment of the game officials. Understand that they are doing their best to help promote the student athlete, and admire their willingness to participate in full view of the public.
8.
Recognize and support the effort of the EBFC Board of Directors in emphasizing the benefits of both athletics and the role of good sportsmanship to that end.
9.
Will be a positive role model through his/her own actions and by censuring those close by whose behavior is unbecoming.
10. Will not post any negative comments about EBFC or the Conference in which we belong, including, but not limited to players, coaches, board members and officials on any Blog or social media website. 11. I have received a copy of the Ohio Department of Health Concussion Information Sheet, as required by law. 12. I will ensure that all my EBFC volunteer hours are completed. I understand that completing the hours is very important for running the volunteer program and for the benefit of all participates as a whole.
We, the undersigned, have read and agree to comply with the above and understand that both my child’s and my participation are subject to this agreement.
