August, 2017 PARENT/GUARDIAN COPY – DO NOT RETURN Dear Parents, Guardians and Students: The purpose of this letter home is to ask parents/guardians to please work with us to reinforce appropriate behavior at public events that EHMS offers. Parents/Guardians and EHMS wants to be proud of their students’ behavior everywhere. If your middle school child comes to a school event, such as the talent show, school play, athletic event, etc., appropriate behavior, is expected, as follows: a) Polite behavior, appreciation and attention to the show at hand. b) Applause and cheering when appropriate. c) Cell phones put away during the event. d) Student to remain in the room of the event, only going to the lavatory or to concessions at the appropriate times. Our PBIS program which emphasizes Respect, Pride, Compassion and Responsibility, is to be demonstrated at all school events. If your middle schooler comes to an event, they are expected to adhere to proper behavior expectations. Administrators/Monitors are assigned to all events. If the middle schooler does not behave appropriately, they may be asked to leave the event, and call you to pick them up. A copy of this letter was given to each student. It was reviewed with them and signed by them afterward, acknowledging that we expect them to behave appropriately at each event.
