East Nidaros Lutheran Scholarship Application This scholarship was established in 2012, soon after East Nidaros Lutheran celebrated their 100th Anniversary. Members of East Nidaros who are furthering their education by attending an institution of higher learning (college, university, technical school) may apply for this scholarship. This is a one-time scholarship of $250.00 available to members of East Nidaros who meet the following criteria:
1. Applicant must be a member of East Nidaros Lutheran Church for at least one year. 2. Applicants will be asked to write an essay based on the below topic criteria. 3. Before the scholarship is awarded, the recipient must provide documentation of completing their 1st semester and enrollment into the 2nd semester. This must also include a current GPA. ESSAY PORTION OF APPLICATION: Essays must be double-spacing and include 250-500 words. Applicants cannot name themselves. The intent of the essay is for the applicant to remain anonymous to the committee. Applicants will be judged on thoughtfulness, originality, correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. As the scholarships are received at the Church, our Church Secretary will go through each submission to be sure all the guidelines are met. The qualifying essays are numbered and then sent on to the Scholarship Committee. Only the essays will be forwarded to the Scholarship Committee to assure anonymity. After the Scholarship Committee chooses a winner the number is given to the Church Secretary and the name is released. A letter will be sent to the recipient and announced in Church.
