EASY TWIST 69” X 80” Fabric 2 pkgs. of Fabric Jewels or 60 8 1/2” squares 3 yds. for blocks, sashing, inner border and binding 1/8 yd. for cornerstones 1 1/4 yds. for outer border 4 yds. for backing Cutting Cut 60 Fabric Jewels in half (4 1/4” x 8 1/2”) Blocks Five 6 1/2” strips Subcut: thirty 6 1/2” squares
Make 5 rows.
Sew the triangles to the side of each rectangle as shown.
Match two sets of triangle/rectangle just sewn to make each block. Sew together as shown.
Sew together as shown. Make 30. Trim to 10 1/2” sq.
Sashing Cut thirteen 2” strips. Subcut into fifty one 2” x 10 1/2” rectangles. Cut one 2” strip for the cornerstones. Subcut into twenty 2” squares. Sew into rows as shown.
Layout alternating the rows and sew together. Cut seven 2” strips for the inner border. Sew the inner border end to end. Measure top to bottom through the center of the quilt top and cut two pieces to sew to the sides. Press. Measure from side to side through the center of the quilt top and cut two pieces to sew to the top and bottom. Cut seven 5 1/2” strips for the outer border. Repeat the same technique to add outer border. Quilt and bind.
