Safety Instructions:
The following icons are used in the instruction manual: WARNING! How to avoid personal hazard DANGER! Avoid possible danger CAUTION! Describes procedures you should follow to avoid damage to the equipment or others.
WARNING!
Keep children away from this unit and do not let them play with the product. DO NOT operate unit if persons are in water. • A high-voltage connector is in the unit. Be sure to turn off the main power supply prior to cleaning or performing any maintenance on the unit. • Never cut the power plug and replace it yourself. This may lead to serious injury or death. • Never open the unit housing or its attendant components, unless this is explicitly required in the operation instructions.
Important Safety Instructions
For safety reasons children under the age of 16 and those not familiar with these operating instructions are not permitted to use this unit. DO NOT let children play with this appliance. Electrical Precautions and Hazards: • The combination of water and electricity can lead to death or severe injury from electrocution if unit is incorrectly connected or misused. • Prior to reaching into the water, ensure that the main power switch is off to all units in the water. • DO NOT operate if the cord or plug is damaged. • DO NOT place product where it may fall down or get wet. • DO NOT operate product during thunderstorms; it may result in electric shock. • Install unit so that it is not exposed to direct sunlight. ( max. 100°F) Drip Loop A drip loops prevents the plug or electrical outflow from getting wet. A “drip loop” shown in the figure on the next page, should be arranged for each cord connecting the water pump to an electrical outflow. The “drip loop” is the part of the cord below the level of the outflow or connector if an extension cord is used. A proper “drip loop” should form a U shape in the cord. The “drip loop” prevents water from traveling along the cord and coming into contact with the outflow. 2
See illustration below. *Represents a Drip Loop and not an actual pump setup.*
The following restrictions apply to the unit: • NEVER use this unit to pump fluids other than water • NEVER run this unit without water • DO NOT use for commercial or industrial purposes • DO NOT use in conjunction with chemicals, foodstuff, easily flammable or explosive substances. Usage Caution A. Before operation: 1. Check that the power voltage and frequency conforms to the power ratings on the nameplate. 2. Don’t lift, lower or carry pump by power cable. 3. Always switch off power main before doing any maintenance or placing your hands in water. 4. Do not add any lubricant to pump. Do not operate the pump without water. This will severely damage the pump. 5. Do not use pump with water temperature that is higher than 100ºF, as it will shorten the expected life of the pump. 6. Unplug power to pump before performing maintenance or examining. B. The pond pump should not be used if: 1. Power supply cord or other important parts are damaged in any way. 2. If cord is damaged, pump should not be used and discarded. 3. Pump has a wet plug or a wet receptacle. 4. Water discharge from pump is reduced. 5. A part is broken and water leaks in. 6. Anything abnormal occurs. C. During operation 1. Shut off power immediately to prevent motor from burning out when motor is overloaded due to clogging of foreign material. 2. Please consult store where you purchased unit, if pump is not working properly. Do not disassemble or assemble this unit, as it may result in motor damage. 3
Storage/Over-Wintering • Stop operating unit if temperatures fall below 45°F or if freezing weather is expected. • Pour out water from inside unit. Thoroughly clean and check unit for damage. Allow to thoroughly dry, before placing into storage. • Store unit in dry place and keep away from children.

Operating Use Submersible Application: This pump is designed to completely submerge. CAUTION: Do not put plug and pump into water together. If plug drops into water, power supply should be turned off to avoid electric shock. Pump can be used indoors or outdoors. Supply cord cannot be changed or replaced. It cannot be bent or used to carry the pump. If cord is damaged do not use pump. Basic setup: 1. Place the pump at the desired location in your pond or reservoir and then fill your pond or reservoir with water. 2. Attach your desired inflow and outflow fittings as shown in the photos below. 3. Connect power cord to your main power source. 7
Submersible Application Image #1: Using pump with the sediment and pre-filter with barbed outflow fitting.
Submersible Application Image #2: Using pump with the bottom draw inflow fitting and barbed outflow fitting.

External In-line Application Allows pump to run outside of pond or reservoir without being submerged in water. CAUTION: Running pumps in-line requires the pump to be filled with water and slightly lower than the water level. The pump is not designed to support long tubing runs. Basic Setup: 1. Create an outflow connection to your pond or reservoir (keep in mind the pump must be lower than your pond or reservoir). 2. Connect desired tubing size to the connection point on your pond or reservoir to the inflow barb fitting attached to the pump (included) 3. Connect your desired barbed outflow fitting to the pump and run tubing to your desired location. External In-line Application Image #1: Using pump with the barbed inflow and barbed outflow fittings.
External In-line Application Image #2: Using pump with the barbed inflow fitting and garden hose outflow fitting.

Cleaning and Maintenance Unit Motor is hermetically sealed with a super quality resin and does not require any extra care. The only serviceable part is the impeller. The impeller assembly rest in an easy to open cover that needs to be spot checked for dirt, grime and mineral build up. Should you discover any worn or damaged areas replace impeller immediately to restore pump to its full capacity. Pumps ran in salt water should also be flushed with freshwater after use and before maintenance. It is recommended that these inspection take place ever 2-3 months depending on water conditions.
Troubleshooting SYMPTOM
CAUSE Power is not turned on
Turn on power
The pump doesn’t run
Plugged in insufficiently
Plug in sufficiently
The motor repeats on and off immediately without pump running. The motor suddenly stops and cannot be started again.
The pump runs normally at the beginning but the water flows out slowly or there is no water.
RESOLUTION
Impeller binding
Remove foreign matters from impeller
Apply to wrong voltage
Apply to correct voltage
The water inflow or outflow pipe is clogged with foreign matters
Remove foreign matters from pipes
Impeller worn out
Replace it with a new one
Water level does down and the pump exposed on the water source
Put pump into water
Hose is too long or clogged with foreign matter
Shorten the hose or clean up inside
There is air in the impeller chamber (Only when used outside water.)
In order to get rid of air, put the pump into the water. Turn the switch to “ON” then “OFF” intermittently 2 or 3 times.
