MISSIONARY HIGHLIGHT ______________________________________________ Educate Texas Hispanic Education Fair Texas

The goal of Texas Baptists’ Hispanic Education Initiative is to keep students in high school through graduation and then on to college, reclaim students who left school and equip their parents to help their children succeed.

During his presentation, Natividad spoke to high school students and their parents on what they’ll be facing as an undergraduate student, decision-making and the importance of church and faith during their college journey.

One way the Hispanic Education Initiative does this is through their Educate Texas Hispanic Education Fair.

He said, “It’s our job to raise up these young leaders, because they will be the ones to lead our churches one day. They will be our pastors leading our churches, and the lawyers, doctors and teachers that will be in our churches.”

This education fair exists to provide resources and motivation for Hispanic students to excel in education. And according to David Natividad, a speaker at the event and previous member of the HEI council, there are two main purposes of the education fair: to work with students of all ages and their parents, encouraging them in their education, and to raise funds for student scholarships.

Because of the funds we give through the Cooperative Program, the Hispanic Education Initiative is able to host events like this, preparing students and parents to excel in future education. Let’s pray for the HEI’s continued work this morning.
