EDUCATIONAL AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS FILMMAKING WORKSHOPS, MENTORSHIPS & FUNDING NewFest supports emerging LGBTQ voices through a variety of programs that inspire, empower and nurture their talent. A tax-deductible donation allows NewFest to establish programs currently in development and to expand programs that foster new voices within the community.

ASPIRING YOUTH FILMMAKING WORKSHOP •

Inspiring weekend workshop for teens



Encourages expression and teaches filmmaking



Focus on underrepresented voices



Participants create and screen a short film

NEWDRAFT SCREENWRITING MENTORSHIP •

Pairs emerging and established writers



Offers script refining and support



May be for shorts or feature-length screenplays

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS From underrepresented populations to at-risk youth, NewFest engages New York City’s diverse LGBTQ communities through programs that give greater access to the arts, and allow audiences to see themselves reflected on screen. A tax-deductible donation would allow NewFest to continue to run and expand programs in marginalized and underserved communities.
