Edward H. Heymann Ed, and his wife Carolyn (married for 51 years), have been members of St. James’s Episcopal Church since 1978. Ed is a cradle Episcopalian, baptized and confirmed at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in St. Louis, Mo. His soul mate, Carolyn, was raised in the Lutheran church and after their wedding, she was received into the Episcopal Church. Ed has had a successful business career, both from a corporate and entrepreneurial standpoint. He founded Food Service Specialists in 1974 which later became Omni Marketing Corporation. He sold his very successful venture that dealt with many food service manufacturers in 2000. Prior to founding Food Service Specialists, he was in senior management marketing and sales positions with Thomas J. Lipton Company. Since coming to St. James, he has had many responsibilities in the church: Vestry member for three terms, Treasurer several times, Grounds Chairman, Stewardship team leader on seven occasions, organizer for Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University Classes at St. James, member of the Gleason Hall (Parish Hall) Building Drive, and lots, lots more. Ed claims golf to be his primary hobby, having played the game since the age of 10. At one point in his golfing career, his handicap was a 5! Although his handicap has changed over the course of the years, he, Carolyn, and their friends try to get in at least two games a week — and seek out new courses on a routine basis. Another hobby of Ed’s is doting on his two daughters, four granddaughters and one grandson. His oldest grandchild is heading off to college this year, while the youngest grandchild is 6 years old.
