When do your best ideas come? For me, they usually happen in moments when I am alone and quiet. Perhaps driving and I have a significant amount of time simply to reflect and think (all while keeping my eyes on the road). Many times, they come while merely being quiet and asking the Lord for guidance' But sometimes great ideas come from "green-lighting" or "brain-storming" with others. This week it was a combination of both. April 17 at the post office. IRS tax deadline day. A line to the street of tblks needing to make sure their tax returns were postmarked by midnight April L7 , 2or8. I was not there to mail our tax returns, though I have stood in those lines in years past. I was not alone; there were more than zo people around me inside while cars lined up outside to make their drop. It was one of those moments where one feels alone even in a crowd. It started me thinking and praylng.
Anyworking adult knows the annual tax due date. Many wait until the last minute for a variety of reasons. Some send them to the government long before the due date, and have even invested their tax returns by the time we procrastinators have ours prepared. What if it were that way with our last day on earth? What if each of us knew when we would no longer breathe the air? But we don't. Any day could be our last. We truly don't know. In Job r4:5, Job expresses to God: "A person's days are determined; gouhaue decreed the number of his months and haue set limits he cannot exceed" (NID. But in His wisdom, God has not shared with us what our number of days might be. He wants a relationship with each of us based upon faith, love, and grace, not upon the fear of death. Who led you to know Jesus? Your parents? A sibling? A friend? A teacher? A preacher? Praise God for that person and the circumstances surrounding your decision. But we are told there is much work to be done. Jesus told his disciples in John + B4-SS; "Do you not say,'There are stillfour months until the haruest'? I tell you, lift up Aour eAes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for han)est . . ." TCM International Institute now has more than 2,ooo students and graduates. They are planting churches, leading congregations, and sharing the Good News of Jesus with thousands every year. They are grateful for the opportunity to hone their skills and enhance their ministries through their studies at TCM. They are grateful for your prayers and financial support. They know their TCM education likely would not have been possible without your help.
Will you once again help? Will you please invest in the mission of TCM to develop disciple makers who in turn will develop more disciple makers as Jesus taught His disciples to do? This is more than an idea whose time is now; it is a command that our Lord gave each of us who follow Him.
